What Does a Performance Marketing Manager Do and How Much Do They Earn in India?

A performance marketing manager runs paid advertising campaigns – Google Ads, Meta Ads, programmatic – and is accountable for the business outcome of every rupee spent. In India, the salary range for this role is ₹15-40 LPA, making it one of the highest-paying jobs in digital marketing.

The range is wide for a reason. A junior performance marketer managing small budgets at an agency earns very differently from a senior manager owning ₹10 crore+ in annual ad spend at a D2C brand or funded startup. What you earn depends heavily on the scale you’re operating at and the business results you can demonstrate.

What the job actually involves

The simplest way to describe it: a performance marketer is responsible for making paid traffic profitable. That means setting up campaigns, monitoring what the data shows, and making decisions that change outcomes – not just reporting on them.

What skills you actually need
