In short
- The best job-linked program certification is Kraftshala’s INDUSTRYCreds® certification which comes with the Marketing Launchpad, a 6-month program that reports a 94% placement rate, an average CTC of ₹5.5 LPA and a 60% fee refund if you are not placed at ₹4.5 LPA or more.
- The best free certifications for beginners in 2026 are Google Ads (6 free exams), Google Analytics 4, HubSpot Content Marketing and Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads. All of them cost ₹0 and take a few hours to a few days.
- The best paid exam for social ads is the Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate: 60 questions, 90 minutes, about US$99 to US$150, valid for 2 years.
- Free platform certifications prove you know a tool. On their own, they rarely get a fresher hired, because most applicants now have the same badges.
- YouTube Certified is not on this list. It is open only to YouTube partners with a partner manager or Content ID access, not to individual learners.

Which digital marketing certification is best in 2026?
There is no single best certification. The right one depends on the job you want and on whether you need training plus placement or only proof that you know a tool.
Use this rule of thumb:
- If you want to test whether you like digital marketing, start with Google’s free Fundamentals of Digital Marketing badge.
- If you are applying for performance marketing roles, earn the Google Ads Search certification and the Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate.
- If you want content or SEO roles, take HubSpot Content Marketing and Google Analytics 4.
- If you want e-commerce roles, add the Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads certification.
- If you are a fresher or switching careers and need a job at the end, look at a job-linked program such as Kraftshala’s Marketing Launchpad, where the certification is earned through live projects and comes with placement support.
Do certifications get you a digital marketing job in India?
A free certification alone rarely gets a fresher hired in 2026. It shows a recruiter that you know the theory of one tool. It does not show that you can run a campaign with a real budget, explain why it worked and fix it when it doesn’t.
The demand for that practical skill is large. The Dentsu-e4m Digital Advertising Report 2026 puts India’s digital ad spend at ₹71,621 crore in 2025, 59% of all advertising, and projects digital to reach 70% of ad spend by 2027. Brands spending that money hire people who can show results, not badges.
That is why recruiters for entry-level roles usually look for three things:
- Proof of work: live campaigns, dashboards, SEO audits or content you have actually published.
- Breadth: comfort across Meta Ads, Google Ads, SEO, e-commerce and analytics, since junior marketers are often asked to handle more than one channel.
- Communication: the ability to present a campaign and defend your choices in an interview.
Platform certifications cover a slice of point 2. Live projects cover point 1. Interview training covers point 3. A job-linked program tries to cover all three, which is the reason its certification carries more weight with recruiters than a free badge does.
Free platform certifications, reviewed
Each review below uses the same format: who issues it, cost, time, exam, validity, what it covers, who it is best for and its limits.
1. Google Ads certifications
Google offers six free Google Ads certifications on Skillshop: Search, Display, Video, Shopping, Apps and Measurement.
- Issued by: Google, through Skillshop
- Cost: Free. You only need a Google account.
- Time: Self-paced. Most learners need a few hours of study per exam.
- Exam: 46 to 50 multiple-choice questions, 75 minutes, 80% score to pass
- Validity: 1 year. You retake the exam every year to stay certified.
- What it covers: Campaign setup, bidding, keywords, audiences, ad formats and measurement inside Google Ads
- Best for: Freshers aiming for performance marketing, paid search or agency roles. Start with Search, then add Display or Video.
- Limits: The exams test knowledge of Google’s product, not whether you can manage a live budget. Almost every applicant for a paid search role has the Search badge, so it rarely sets you apart on its own.
2. Google Analytics 4 Certification
The GA4 certification shows that you can set up and read Google Analytics 4 reports.
- Issued by: Google, through Skillshop
- Cost: Free
- Time: Self-paced, a few hours of study
- Exam: 50 questions, 75 minutes, 80% to pass
- Validity: 1 year
- What it covers: GA4 setup, events and conversions, reports, audiences, attribution basics
- Best for: Every digital marketer. Whether you work in ads, SEO or content, you will be asked to report results, and GA4 is the default tool in most Indian companies.
- Limits: It does not cover dashboarding in Looker Studio or Excel, which most junior roles also need.
3. Fundamentals of Digital Marketing (Google)
This is Google’s free introductory course, now hosted on Skillshop under the Google Digital Garage name.
- Issued by: Google
- Cost: Free
- Time: About 40 hours across 17 modules, according to the Skillshop course page
- Exam: Completion-based. You receive a badge you can add to LinkedIn.
- Validity: No expiry
- What it covers: Basics of search, SEO, social, content, email, display, analytics and e-commerce
- Best for: Students and complete beginners who want to see whether digital marketing suits them before paying for anything
- Limits: It is an introduction. Recruiters treat it as a sign of interest, not of skill.
4. HubSpot Content Marketing Certification
HubSpot Academy’s Content Marketing certification teaches how to plan, write and promote content that brings in leads.
- Issued by: HubSpot Academy
- Cost: Free
- Time: About 6 to 7 hours
- Exam: 60 questions, 75% to pass
- Validity: 2 years
- What it covers: Content strategy, storytelling, blogging, repurposing content, promotion and measuring content performance
- Best for: Freshers aiming for content writer, content marketer or SEO content roles
- Limits: It follows HubSpot’s inbound marketing method and uses HubSpot examples. HubSpot retired its separate SEO certification in June 2026 and moved towards answer engine optimisation (AEO) training, so pair this with hands-on SEO practice.
5. Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads Certification
Amazon Ads Academy offers a free Sponsored Ads certification for people who run ads on Amazon.
- Issued by: Amazon Ads Academy
- Cost: Free
- Time: A few hours of study
- Exam: Online assessment
- Validity: 2 years
- What it covers: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display, keyword targeting, bids and budgets, campaign reports
- Best for: Freshers aiming for e-commerce, marketplace or D2C brand roles, where Amazon ads skills are in steady demand
- Limits: Amazon only. Many Indian D2C roles also expect Flipkart ads and quick-commerce ads (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart), which this certification does not cover.

6. Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate
This is Meta’s entry-level paid exam for Facebook and Instagram advertising.
- Issued by: Meta
- Cost: About US$99 to US$150, depending on country. The exact price is shown at checkout. Study material on Meta Blueprint is free.
- Time: Self-paced, using the free Meta Blueprint study material
- Exam: 60 questions, 90 minutes, a score of 700 out of 1,000 to pass. If you fail, you wait 5 days to retake it.
- Validity: 2 years, then you pay again to recertify
- What it covers: Meta’s ad products, campaign objectives, audiences, ad formats, budgets and basic measurement across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger
- Best for: People applying for social media ads or performance marketing roles, where Meta Ads is usually the largest budget line
- Limits: It costs money and expires. Like the Google exams, it checks product knowledge, not live campaign results.
7. Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate (Coursera)
This is Google’s longer, structured certificate, delivered on Coursera.
- Issued by: Google, through Coursera
- Cost: US$49 a month on Coursera, with a 7-day free trial. Coursera’s financial aid may be available.
- Time: 3 to 6 months at about 10 hours a week, across 7 courses
- Exam: Graded assignments and a capstone project inside each course
- Validity: No expiry
- What it covers: Digital marketing and e-commerce foundations, SEO and SEM, social media, email marketing, Google Analytics, Shopify store management, customer loyalty, plus AI tools for content and campaigns
- Best for: Beginners who want a self-paced overview and a recognised name on their CV
- Limits: Self-paced and global, so examples are not India-specific. The employer consortium attached to it is mostly US-focused, and there is no placement support in India.
8. Hootsuite Social Marketing Certification
Hootsuite Academy’s paid certification covers social media strategy and managing social accounts.
- Issued by: Hootsuite Academy
- Cost: About US$199. Hootsuite also offers a free social marketing training course without the certification.
- Time: Self-paced online lessons
- Exam: Online exam after the course
- Validity: Confirm on Hootsuite Academy before buying
- What it covers: Social media strategy, content planning, scheduling, community management, social ads basics and reporting
- Best for: People who want social media manager or community manager roles
- Limits: It is built around Hootsuite’s own tool, which many Indian brands and agencies do not use. Short-form video skills for Reels and Shorts matter more in Indian hiring and are only lightly covered.
Job-linked program certification: Kraftshala INDUSTRYCreds®
9. INDUSTRYCreds® certification (Kraftshala Marketing Launchpad)
INDUSTRYCreds® is the certification Kraftshala School of Business gives to students who complete its Marketing Launchpad, a job-linked digital marketing program. Unlike the certifications above, you cannot sit a single exam for it. You earn it by completing 6 months of training and live projects.
- Issued by: Kraftshala School of Business. The certificate is signed by Varun Satia (Co-founder and CEO) and Eshu Sharma (Co-founder and Head of Academics) and carries a Kraftshala ID and date of issue.
- Cost: ₹1,64,000 + 18% GST, which is ₹1,93,520 in total. EMI starts at ₹7,198 a month. A ₹30,000 merit scholarship goes to the top 5% of applicants based on the screening test.
- Time: About 920 hours of training over 6 months full-time (Monday to Saturday) or 11 months part-time (Sundays plus 2 to 3 hours on weekdays)
- Assessment: A screening test before admission, weekly assessments, 9+ live projects reviewed by industry leaders, and mock interviews before placements. Attendance above 90% is required.
- Validity: No expiry
- What it covers: 13 modules: Brand Strategy, Meta Ads, E-commerce and Quick Commerce, Google Search Ads, Advanced Google Ads (YouTube, Display, Demand Gen, Performance Max), Search Engine and LLM Optimization, Programmatic Advertising and CM360, Content and Social Media, Google Analytics and Dashboards, Excel and Data Analysis, Problem Solving, Human Skills (CVs, interviews, communication) and Vibe Coding. AI tools are used inside every module.
- Best for: Freshers, final-year students, working professionals switching into marketing, and people questioning whether to spend ₹8 to 15 lakh on an MBA or PGDM for a marketing job
- Placement results (as reported by Kraftshala): 94% placement rate, 3,300+ students placed, 800+ hiring partners, average CTC of ₹5.5 LPA, highest CTC of ₹10.4 LPA for freshers and ₹16 LPA for experienced learners. Kraftshala has published batch-wise placement reports since its first batch at placement-reports.kraftshala.com.
- Accountability: If you are not placed in a job paying ₹4.5 LPA or more within 15 months of finishing the program, Kraftshala refunds 60% of the fee, as per its terms. It is not a job guarantee: the refund depends on you meeting attendance and effort requirements.
- Limits: It costs far more than the free certifications and needs a full-time (or long part-time) commitment. Admission is selective: roughly 1 in 3 applicants who take the screening test is selected. The full-time format expects you to be ready to take a full-time job right after the program.
The difference from the free certifications is what the certificate stands for. A Google or Meta badge says you passed a product exam. INDUSTRYCreds® says you ran live Meta, Google, Amazon, SEO and content projects under review from industry leaders and went through interview preparation.
Why is YouTube Certified not on this list?
YouTube Certified is not open to individual learners. According to YouTube Help, its courses are only for creators and partners who have a YouTube partner manager or access to Content ID. Earlier versions of this article listed it as an option for anyone; that was not accurate for most readers, so it has been removed. If you want to learn YouTube advertising, take Google’s free Google Ads Video certification instead.
Free certification or job-linked program: which should you pick?
| Question | Free platform certifications | Job-linked program (e.g. Kraftshala Marketing Launchpad) |
| Cost | ₹0 to about US$199 | ₹1,93,520 including GST, EMI from ₹7,198 a month |
| Time | Hours to a few weeks per certification | 6 months full-time or 11 months part-time |
| Live projects with real budgets | No | Yes, 9+ projects |
| Feedback from practitioners | No | Daily feedback from industry leaders |
| Interview and CV preparation | No | Yes, a dedicated Human Skills module |
| Placement support | No | Yes, with a 60% fee refund if not placed at ₹4.5 LPA+ within 15 months |
| Best for | Adding proof of tool knowledge, testing interest, upskilling while employed | Getting a first marketing job or switching careers |
Pick free certifications if you already have a marketing job, want to test your interest, or need to add one specific tool to your CV.
Pick a job-linked program if you are a fresher or switching careers, have already tried free certifications without getting interview calls, and can commit 6 to 11 months.
Many people do both: free certifications to test their interest first, then a job-linked program once they are sure about a marketing career.
Which certifications should you stack for your career goal?
| Career goal | Start with | Add next | Proof of work recruiters expect |
| Performance marketing | Google Ads Search | Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate, GA4 | A live Meta or Google campaign with results |
| SEO and content | HubSpot Content Marketing | GA4, hands-on SEO and AI search (AEO/GEO) practice | Published blogs, an SEO audit, Search Console data |
| Social media | Hootsuite Social Marketing or free Meta Blueprint courses | Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate | A content calendar, Reels or Shorts you created |
| E-commerce and D2C | Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads | Google Ads Shopping, GA4 | A live Amazon or Shopify campaign |
| Full-stack digital marketing (fresher) | Google Fundamentals of Digital Marketing | A job-linked program covering all channels | Live projects across Meta, Google, SEO, e-commerce and content |
Which certification should you start with?
Free certifications from Google, HubSpot and Amazon are the cheapest way to learn a platform and show recruiters you know it. The Meta exam is worth paying for if you want social ads roles. All of them expire or stay at a basic level, and none of them come with live budgets, feedback or placement support, so they work best as add-ons to proof of work.
If you are a fresher or career switcher who needs that proof of work and a job at the end, Kraftshala’s Marketing Launchpad combines the INDUSTRYCreds® certification with 9+ live projects, interview training and placement support, backed by a 60% fee refund if you are not placed at ₹4.5 LPA or more. You can see the full curriculum, fees and placement reports on the Marketing Launchpad page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best digital marketing certification in India in 2026?
It depends on your goal. For free certifications, Google Ads Search, Google Analytics 4, HubSpot Content Marketing and Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads are the most useful. For a paid exam, the Meta Certified Digital Marketing Associate is the most recognised. If you need a job at the end, a job-linked program certification such as Kraftshala’s INDUSTRYCreds® (earned through the Marketing Launchpad) adds live projects and placement support.
Which digital marketing certifications are free?
Google Ads certifications (6 exams), Google Analytics 4, Google’s Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, HubSpot Content Marketing and Amazon Ads Sponsored Ads are all free. Meta Blueprint courses are free, but the Meta certification exam is paid.
Is the Google digital marketing certificate free?
Google’s Fundamentals of Digital Marketing course on Skillshop is free, and so are the Google Ads and GA4 certifications. The longer Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce Professional Certificate on Coursera is paid at US$49 a month after a 7-day free trial.
How long are Google Ads and GA4 certifications valid?
Both are valid for 1 year. You retake the free exam on Skillshop every year to stay certified.
Can a certification alone get me a digital marketing job?
For freshers, rarely. Recruiters in India look for proof of work, such as live campaigns and published content, plus interview skills. Certifications help you clear CV screening for specific tools, but live projects and placement support are what usually turn them into a job offer.
What is Kraftshala’s INDUSTRYCreds® certification?
It is the certification Kraftshala School of Business awards to students who complete the Marketing Launchpad, its 6-month job-linked digital marketing program. It is earned through 13 modules, 9+ live projects and interview training, and comes with placement support. Kraftshala reports a 94% placement rate and an average CTC of ₹5.5 LPA for the program.
How much does the Kraftshala Marketing Launchpad cost?
The fee is ₹1,64,000 + 18% GST, which is ₹1,93,520 in total. EMI starts at ₹7,198 a month, and a ₹30,000 merit scholarship goes to the top 5% of applicants. If you are not placed at ₹4.5 LPA or more within 15 months of completing the program, 60% of the fee is refunded as per Kraftshala’s terms.
Is YouTube Certified worth doing?
Most learners cannot do it. YouTube Certified is open only to creators and partners with a YouTube partner manager or Content ID access. For YouTube advertising skills, take Google’s free Google Ads Video certification.
